Opening Reception: September 09, 2011 from 7:00-9:00pm
In a sensational visual journey lined with new photographs, found photographs and personal writing, Tong pays homage to his identity and past Hong Kong life straddled between two diverse cultures; one which prompted him to sing God Save The Queen at school, and the other steeped in the pensive relics of Mao Zedong and his revolution.
Artist Talk with Kurt Tong: September 12, 2011 from 7:00-8:00pm
Reputed for his extraordinary visual language penetrating human experience and the loss of time with the loving melancholy of a poet, London-based visual artist Kurt Tong is hosting a talk to discuss his latest project, The Queen, The Chairman and I.
Besides discussing the experience he encountered during his earnest and formidable search for his identity for this project, Tong will also share with us the journey he traveled going from an amateur documentary photographer to becoming a firmly established rising star in the world of art photography.
